Renewable energy, energy collected from naturally renewable resources such as sunlight, wind or geothermal heat, has been a growing trend for homeowners over the past decade. As evidence mounts for the effects of climate change, renewable technologies and products become increasingly affordable. The most well-known renewable product is Solar Panels with, at the point of writing, more than 11 gigawatts of capacity installed over the past five years – that is enough energy to power over 2.6 million homes with clean, flexible energy.
Although interest in renewables is on the rise, changes in governmental policy regarding grants and finance has hindered predicted profit forecasts. Cost is the consumer’s largest hurdle and energy providers therefore must work even harder if they wish to achieve their projected growth.
